I dislike driving.

1. it makes pictures look bad.. no that really shouldn't but number one.. but the picture is there.. whatever. My point is that driving gives me a head ache here, the roads are just so bumpy. Arrh. Just conquered a 2 and a half maybe 3 hour drive back from Balneario Camboriu (The beach) and my head is killing me..
ANYWAY. On Saturday I had an orientation thing with two other Aussies to learn a bit more about exchange and to get to know some rotary people. Who were actually awesome by the way. Really easy to talk to and get along with =]
Then today, went sight seeing, up a massive mountain. We caught a box up there. I dunno what it's called haha. But it was a massive box like thing with windows so you could see the view. Kinda like a ski lift.. but closed in. It was all fairly cool but I didn't have much fun cause I was thinking about home too much :( which sucks because, it would have been amazing fun.. I guess I did have a good time, but I couldn't express it, I was just sad :/ Smiled in pics though. Or at least attempted.. We went to find a beach after that... and.. wow. Don't think I've ever seen such a crowded beach :| oh my gosh.. we went to another beach though haha. The 'Sky Beach' which was awesome, we were at a cafe sort of thing next to the beach and some dude was playing Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, JBT, Steve Miller. Which means he must be a cool cat, talked to him after. He's from California. Sweet. My host mum and I went for a walk along the beach when we finished eating and even though I put sunscreen on.. I still got a little burnt.. lame. But it was all awesome, so happy I was taken :D Then home time, guitar and sleep. Then real home time. The really fun drive back >.>

I did the dishes today.

Good exchange student. Heading to the beach tonight then going to an orientation thing with three other Australians. Hope it's good.

Ever seen an orange tongue? No neither have I.

Wait, yes I have.. Only yesterday I had an orange icy pole and it made me tongue orange. Completely nessaccary to let you know.. But on the other hand. THEY HAVE PURPLE ICE CREAM! I mean, it tastes fairly dodgy.. but it was purple, therefor I must have some..
Went to a party last night, fairly awesome.. but aparently that's only a 'warm up' to what's coming.. O_O Anyway, my kindeys are still intact so it can't have been too crazy.. :D

I'd rather be safe than 'normal'

No one wears seatbelts here :| and it kinda freaks me out... I like seat belts.. They drive like crazy here as well.. Oh and they drive on the wrong side of the road, which also freaks me out.. a lot. And there's these reflectors on the ground but they are about 8 times the size of ours, they're kind of like speed bumps I suppose.. I dunno.. weird as.. Anyway... what'd I do today.. Jeez.. short term memory loss? *thinks*
OH YEAH ! I went for lunch at my host dads restaraunt and had this massssive potato. Huge seriously. I think they hollowed out the potato and then cooked it and made it mashed potato then mixed in cheese and bacon then put it back in.. yum :D Came home and cranked the guitar for a while (cause you can totally crank an acoustic nylon string) Then ate some chocolate thing.. it was like melted chocolate in a bowl. I swear I am getting fat already. Oh and the coke. Jeez they like their coke..
Just got home from a party. Wouldn't really call it a party, just a small gathering of girls for one of their birthdays. It'd be a lot cooler if I knew what anyone was saying.. got more chocolate pizza though.. It's always chocolate here, crazy. Haven't even had coffee yet ! :o
Oh and another thing, I finally saw the moon, but I'm still hanging out to see some stars :/
Yes, also.. that is the tiny dog that didn't like me and then humped my leg :| Hahahah

Things that make me Lol.

They eat all of their food here with knives and forks.. pizza, chicken, chips.. I suck at this :P Oh well, I suppose I will learn some time. Oh and they ALWAYS have rice. Not a huge fan, but I'm sure I'll live..
I went and looked around my school today. It's fancy.... and there's some secret place downstairs that I am now scared of.. there's some crazy myth about it or something.. but I am excited for school. Wait.. what.. I didn't just say that.... it's an illusion!
After this I got a photo taked of me.... lame.. it was like a passport photo and I couldn't stop smiling.. dang. Then the girl gave me the biggest mean look ever and I laughed... awkward.. hehe. I had a quick look in a guitar shop, but majority are nylon stringed... not in my liking...
OHHHHHH ! ANNNND, if you are scared of lighting and thunder, or you don't like it. DO NOT come here. It in incredibly intense, and so so loud. CRAZY ! My ears actually hurt a bit. :| mmmm, it rained like crazy.. but it was still damn hot.
Currently I can hear a cat.. I think.. but it doesn't sound very happy.. at all :|
Anyway... I just got home from my first rotary meeting.. I wouldn't really call it a meeting though.. we just talked to who ever and ate.. Then for about five minutes maximum everyone gathered and they presented me with a bunch of flowers and I gave them my Heidelberg Rotary banner along with a few portguese sentences.. woo hoo ! I've met so many new people, but I can't remember anyones name.. cause they are so different to Australia.. >_< Annoying..... anyway, I am ultra tired so.. talk sooooooooon xxx

The girls are beautiful.

But this does not mean it is fun to hang out with a bunch of 13-14 year olds >_> Crazy ones too. I don't talk here. Weird huh? But I can't. I don't understand anything, so I just think about home :( so pretty much... today wasn't very good. But I did meet lots of people. Oh and I bought a ring. ehhhh..... missing everyone. x

Lies.

I told a brazilian guy I live with kangaroos. Hahaha :D
I think I have kissed more people on the cheek in the last two days then I have in my life. I love how close everyone is here, even when you just meet you get a kiss on the cheek.
That's all for now. I am Luci Orange and I approve this message (Only some cool people will understand this:))

It's real, it's true. bbq.

So the food here is pretty much amazing. My host dad is a chef.. and he just keeps on cooking :| I'm scared of getting fat... like. I have eaten enough to feed a small country in the last 24 hours. Oh and the watermelon.. Hahaha. Sergio (Host Dad) cut me a slice but I didn't think it was for just me - I though it was for everyone to share.. haha I suppose not.

Scary things.

The toilets are weird... and the roads have grass on them.. :D

Chocolate Pizza

Okay so I'm finally here ! A short 47 hours hours from home to Melbourne airport to Sydney to Auckland to Beunes Aires (dunno how to spell that and can't be bothered checking) to Sao Paulo (stayed the night here, at Sergio's parents' house) to unknown to Joinville to Jaragua Do Sul. Fun fun fun....
But really. My host family is amazing :) So welcoming and everything. I have my own room and they've thrown in a guitar for me YEY !
We went out for lunch at my host fathers restaraunt and he made us traditional brazilian black beans with meat, rice and salad. Then for dinner we went out for pizza. But it was a lot different to Australia. The waiters carry around the pizzas and give who ever wants what a slice of it. They pizza is made differently too, a realllllly thin base and then heaps and heaps of cheese on top. It doesn't taste the same either - different kinds of toppings.. like 4 cheeses, potato and bacon, CHOCOLATE pizza, white chocolate and milk chocolate, then banana and white chocolate. Yes - I feel sick.
The plane ride over Sao Paulo was amazing !!!!! We flew over at night time so we saw all of the city lights, it was incredible.
I can't remember how to say anyones name... awkward... and everyone speaks portguese around me so I don't understand anything :( but my host brothers and mum can speak english. I spoke some portuguese to a lady on the plane who helped me and showed me where to go. She spoke to me in portuguese and I was like "ummmmm.. eu so Australiana.. Voce fala ingles?" Go Luci! I don't know this ladies name but I'd like to somehow thank her.. And the Rotary guy I met on the bus, who also spoke to me in english. Thank you too :) Gave him my card 'cause he lives somewhere in Joinville and travels to Jaragua Do Sul sometimes. He also told me he would go to Australia this year.. so look out for him.. haha. He wasn't so keen when I told him I'd been travelling for 44 hours though. OHHH ! And the buses here. are. SO. FREAKING. COMFORTABLE! :o but the planes suck. >_<>
