Okay so I'm finally here ! A short 47 hours hours from home to Melbourne airport to Sydney to Auckland to Beunes Aires (dunno how to spell that and can't be bothered checking) to Sao Paulo (stayed the night here, at Sergio's parents' house) to unknown to Joinville to Jaragua Do Sul. Fun fun fun....
But really. My host family is amazing :) So welcoming and everything. I have my own room and they've thrown in a guitar for me YEY !
We went out for lunch at my host fathers restaraunt and he made us traditional brazilian black beans with meat, rice and salad. Then for dinner we went out for pizza. But it was a lot different to Australia. The waiters carry around the pizzas and give who ever wants what a slice of it. They pizza is made differently too, a realllllly thin base and then heaps and heaps of cheese on top. It doesn't taste the same either - different kinds of toppings.. like 4 cheeses, potato and bacon, CHOCOLATE pizza, white chocolate and milk chocolate, then banana and white chocolate. Yes - I feel sick.
The plane ride over Sao Paulo was amazing !!!!! We flew over at night time so we saw all of the city lights, it was incredible.
I can't remember how to say anyones name... awkward... and everyone speaks portguese around me so I don't understand anything :( but my host brothers and mum can speak english. I spoke some portuguese to a lady on the plane who helped me and showed me where to go. She spoke to me in portuguese and I was like "ummmmm.. eu so Australiana.. Voce fala ingles?" Go Luci! I don't know this ladies name but I'd like to somehow thank her.. And the Rotary guy I met on the bus, who also spoke to me in english. Thank you too :) Gave him my card 'cause he lives somewhere in Joinville and travels to Jaragua Do Sul sometimes. He also told me he would go to Australia this year.. so look out for him.. haha. He wasn't so keen when I told him I'd been travelling for 44 hours though. OHHH ! And the buses here. are. SO. FREAKING. COMFORTABLE! :o but the planes suck. >_<>
